Key objectives of 7th ETSI MCX Plugtests
The 7th ETSI MCX Plugtests that happened 7-11 November 2022 in Malaga validated the interoperability of a variety of implementations using different scenarios based on 3GPP Mission Critical Services in Release-17. TASSTA MCX server (T.Quasar) and a desktop client (T.Galaxy) has participated in testing of MCPTT, MCData, MCVideo, and interworking with LMR systems.
The following high level test objectives were performed:
- Basic connectivity between functional elements at different levels.
- Floor controlling procedures, and comprehensive interoperability analysis of more complex interactions.
- Registration and authorization of MCX clients.
- Policing - specific checking proper LTE dynamic bearer signalling and allocation by eUTRAN/EPC.
- Explicit and implicit affiliation of MCX clients.
- Retrieval and submission of location information.
- OAM related IdMS, CMS, GMS and KMS interfacing procedures.
- Security mechanisms and related procedures, including signalling and media encryption and key retrieval.
- MCVideo transmission control - basic MCVideo call types and Transmission Control operations.
- Functional aliases, multi-talker floor control and exchange of functional alias during call signalling and floor control.
- Interoperability scenarios.
- MCData Message Store - messaging (SDS) and file distribution mechanisms.
- Interworking - MCPTT calls to and from LMR systems (Tetra and P25).

Since all companies have signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement and Rules of Engagement before joining the Plugtests event, we cannot show exact numbers and details for each test. However, detailed results are available for all participants, allowing us to better align with the specifications and improve our implementation. |
